2025 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon

The Rubicon trim is Jeeps off-road specialized version of the Wrangler. Its built for more challenging terrain with features that enhance traction, durability, and ground clearance.

Engines & Performance

The standard engine is a 3.6liter Pentastar V6 that makes about 285 hp and 260 lbft of torque.


There is also a 2.0liter turbocharged 4cylinder available with more torque (around 295 lbft) in some configurations.


Transmissions are a 6speed manual (standard for some versions) and an 8speed automatic in others.


Drive is full four-wheel drive with part-time systems; the Rubicon adds more serious off-road mechanics like locking differentials, a heavy duty transfer case (RockTrac), and dis-connectable sway bars for better articulation.

Towing, Payload, Economy

For the Rubicon, towing is modest. With certain configs (4door, automatic), it can tow up to about 5,000 lbs.

Payload is lower because many off road components add weight.


Fuel economy in the city is roughly 1617 mpg, highway about 2223 mpg depending on engine, doors, tires.

Curb weight is around 4,2004,500 lbs depending on configuration (doors, top, etc.).

Cargo capacity is limited especially with the two door version and roof/top constraints. Passenger seating is for five in 4door, fewer in 2door models.
